Anfield move for Sporting teenager

Liverpool have signed the Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Carlos Teixeira for a fee believed to be in the region of £850,000.

The 19-year-old Portugal youth international, whose playing style is said to resemble Deco will join the club's academy having impressed against them in the NextGen Series earlier this season. Sporting's financial problems are behind their decision to sell the player.
