PSG are growing increasingly confident of signing Angel Di Maria from Manchester United, with manager Laurent Blanc saying there is a "good possibility" the transfer will go through.

The comments from Blanc came after it emerged Di Maria failed to report for Manchester United's pre-season tour of the United States.

He was due to report in San Jose on Saturday but the £59.7m British record signing did not catch his plane to California and no explanation was given to manager Louis van Gaal for his absence.

"No," the United manager said when asked if Di Maria had flown to San Jose.

"I have heard he is not on the plane. I cannot say anything. He was not on the plane."

Manchester United are due to play PSG in a friendly on Thursday, a match in which it's possible Di Maria could make his debut for the French club.

Blanc revealed: "There is a good possibility (he could sign) but there is nothing official.

"There is an anticipation he is going to come to the US but as to which jersey he is going to wear, we don't know yet.

"If he does make a change hopefully it will be for Paris St-Germain."
