Keylor Navas' father has brushed aside media reports claiming his son will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper has made six appearances, just two in the league, since joining the European champions from Levante last summer.

The Costa Rica international is a reported target of Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool.

"Everything that is being said is a complete lie," Freddy Navas told Costa Rican newspaper La Nacion. "Keylor told me that he is not leaving Real Madrid.

"He is very happy there."

Spain international Iker Casillas is Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti's first-choice keeper but Navas is determined to become Real's number one in the future, according to his father.

"Keylor knows he has to fight to earn a starting place," he said. "It's a process that he is accepting very well.

"He is a fighter, who wants to work and succeed at the club."

Navas, whose crucial saves helped Costa Rica reach the quarter-finals of the World Cup in Brazil last year, is tied to the Merengue outfit until June 2020.

"He is living a dream at Real," Navas' spokesman Kristhian Arguedas told La Nacion. "He is very happy there.

"He signed a six-year contract and he intends to respect it."
