West Ham have received a £3.5m bid for Mohamed Diame, triggering the player's release clause, according to reports.

The midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal, with Tottenham also rumoured to be interested.

West Ham deny rumours the midfielder is set for move away.

Jack Sullivan, son of West Ham co-owner David, tweeted tonight: "Contrary to reports there has been no bid for Diame today from anybody."

The Senegal midfielder was in action last night against Fulham, with manager Sam Allardyce fearing it could be his last game for the Hammers.

"Whatever he says to me today might change in an hour's time," said Allardyce before last night's defeat at Craven Cottage.

"Whatever he says now, if Manchester United ring up in one hour’s time, he’s not going to want to stay is he?

"So it doesn’t matter what he's saying now, it change between now and 11 o'clock Thursday night; in the flick of a text, or an email, or a phone call."

It was reported that a bid been made for Diame from an unnamed club and that the midfielder, signed from Wigan last summer, could have left Upton Park before the deadline at 11pm.

West Ham have been attempting to renegotiate the 25-year-old's contract in the meantime.
