Arsenal have been told that striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not for sale by Borussia Dortmund.

The north London club are reportedly in the market for a striker, with the £30m-rated Aubameyang attracting their attention.

The Gabon international scored 23 goals last season and would provide competition for Olivier Giroud at the club.

Dortmund however are said to be insistent that the 26-year-old does not leave to join Petr Cech as another high-profile signing for the Gunners.

Sporting director Michael Zorc said: "We rely heavily on Aubameyang - that is no secret.

"I've heard a lot about this (a transfer to Arsenal) but I can say very clearly that it is blocked for him. He is simply not for sale."

Zorc has already told Arsenal to back off before, saying last month:

"Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a player of Borussia Dortmund and we do not have any plan to sell him. That's a fact."
