Arsene Wenger believes he can tame Mario Balotelli as rumours of a potential swoop for the AC Milan striker gather pace, according to reports.

Wenger is also believed to be interested in signing Loic Remy from QPR as the Gunners boss looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Balotelli is the north London club’s main priority in their pursuit for a top quality striker with Wenger feeling that he has what it takes to turn the Italian into a world class centre forward.

It has been known for some time that Milan are looking to offload the troublesome player this summer and, while Liverpool are also reportedly interested, Arsenal is believed to be Balotelli’s preferred choice.

The 23-year-old moved to the Milan 18 months ago for a deal worth in the region of £17million following his difficult, to put it mildly, spell with Manchester City.

But, Arsenal, who are in need of a top striker to help share the work load with Olivier Giroud who tired during the long season last year, are said to be readying a £20m deal to bring Balotelli to the Emirates.

The Gunners have also been strongly linked with QPR’s Remy, who spent last season on-loan at Newcastle scoring 14 league goals.

Remy is understood to be strongly in favour of a move to Arsenal and could be a simple deal for Wenger and co.

The Daily Mail are also reporting how Lukas Podolski could be on his way out of the club meaning Arsenal would have more than enough space and funds to secure both Balotelli and Remy.

Wenger has allegedly been told he as a transfer budget of over £100m at his disposal this summer.

Balotelli will be part of the Italy team that will face England in their opening World Cup game in Manaus on June 14.
