Robin van Persie could return to the Premier League after being put up for sale by his current club Fenerbahce.

Despite signing a four-year deal with the Turkish side, the former Manchester United and Arsenal player has already expressed his desire to move away from the club.

The Dutchman lashed out against the side’s manager, Vitor Pereira, last February when he claimed he would not be able to help his team if he kept on getting substituted.

After just one season at the Fenerbahce, the 32-year-old is now believed to be unhappy and wishes to move.

West Ham and Crystal Palace have both been linked with the striker after missing out on Marseille’s Michy Batshuayi, according to the Sun.

Van Persie’s representatives are believed to have offered him to a number of clubs but the Dutchman allegedly wants to return to London, making a move to either of the above sides a high possibility.

Speaking earlier this week, Fenerbahce president Azil Yildirim said: “Van Persie? We’re waiting for buyers, if he wants to be sold.”

In light of the news that the forward would be moving away from Turkey’s Super Lig, Arsenal fans have already made calls for Arsene Wenger to bring back one of their most prolific strikers.

The forward scored 132 goals in 277 appearances for the Gunners between 2004 and 2012 before moving to Manchester United in a controversial £22.5m move.

Despite the animosity this provoked, many fans have taken to Twitter to urge the club to re-sign the 32-year-old after the north London side missed out on signing Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.

Van Persie joined the Turkish league runners-up for £4m last summer, making 45 appearances throughout the season during which he scored 20 goals.
