Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez have both demanded significant pay-increases if the club want to keep them at the Emirates this summer. However, the requests have had two very different reactions from the club.

Ozil has asked for an extortionate £384,000-a-week but The Telegraph reports that the Gunners have no intention of meeting such a request. Arsenal will therefore reluctantly listen to any bids for the German ace, with the financial gain of the midfielder’s departure looking to fuel Alexis Sanchez’s contract extension.

The 28-year-old has recently voiced his frustration about his transfer to the Premier League and expressed that he has already considered a return to the Berneabeu, the Metro reported.

Chelsea are the latest side to hunt the other half of the dynamic duo as they plan to make a move for Sanchez, according to the Sun. The Chilean has excited numerous clubs with the prospect of his departure but Arsene Wenger will do his upmost to keep the club’s top scorer at the Emirates.

With an injury-plagued squad, that includes Santi Cazorla, Hector Bellerin and Danny Welbeck, the French coach will need to act efficiently this transfer market if they want to continue their title chase.

The Daily Mail reports that Borussia Dortmund talent Marco Reus has caught the watchful eye of Wenger as a potential replacement for Sanchez. With 78 goals in 168 appearances for his club, he certainly carries the required striking prowess to fit the role.

In-demand Riechedly Bazoer is another player to have caught Arsenal’s interest to replace injured Cazorla in midfield, reports the Daily Star. However, Wenger will not be alone in his hunt for the Ajax ace, with Chelsea also keeping a tab on the player. Ajax manager Peter Bosz has confirmed that he is ready to sell the midfielder maestro in the January transfer market.
