Aston Villa are weighing up an offer to bring Manchester United winger Ashley Young back to Villa Park, according to reports.

Young has one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, and left Villa to join United for £18m in 2011. The Daily Mail have reported that Villa are monitoring developments with the England international at United.

Young joined Villa from Watford for £8m back in 2007, and scored 30 goals in 157 appearances for the Villans.

Villa have money to spend after selling Christian Benteke to Liverpool for £32.5m this week.

"I want to be the best and I want to reach the best of myself,” Benteke said after the deal was concluded. “I came here to win trophies. I came here to reach some great goals with the team.

"It was the right club for me because I had a good chat with the manager and I wanted to be part of his project."
