Last year, Gary Megson looked to be making progress as Bolton eased away from relegation worries well before the season's end. So far, though, things have not been so smooth this time around.
Although his chairman, Phil Gartside, is publicly refusing to "push the panic button", there is no doubt that there are increasing worries for Bolton's Premier League safety. Megson is likely, therefore, to make some signings to improve his own chances of escaping the chop.
