Ipswich have fought off competition from Premier League clubs to sign out-of-contract midfielder Jimmy Bullard.

The player left Hull last week, having not featured this term after being suspended following an incident on a pre-season trip to Slovenia. His availability alerted top-flight clubs – including QPR – but Bullard has agreed a two-year deal with the Championship side, with whom he had a loan spell last season.
