Chelsea strolled towards the Premier League title last season, and early signs suggest that may have caused them to be a little complacent in the transfer market.

A slow start to the season for Jose Mourinho's men has been exaggerated by their largely underwhelming business off the field. The deal to bring Radamel Falcao to Stamford Bridge is not without its potential pitfalls and while players like Asmir Begovic and Baba Rahman represent decent signings, they hardly seem enough on which to defend a title.

The same cannot, however, be said for Pedro, who is undoubtedly a class signing.

The loss of club legends like Petr Cech and Didier Drogba will have hurt but they came at right time. Meanwhile, January signing Juan Cuadrado joins the club's long list of players out on loan, having temporarily joined Juventus.
