Dani Alves to Manchester United: Barcelona defender 'on transfer short-list'
The Brazil international is out of contract this summer

Manchester United have placed Dani Alves on their summer transfer short-list, according to reports.
The Barcelona defender will be out of contract this summer, and whilst the right-back has been offered new terms at the Nou Camp, he is yet to decide where his future lies.
Alves has been an ever-present member of the La Liga winning Barcelona side that will contest the Champions League final next month, proving that despite reaching the age of 32, he still has much to offer.
The Brazil international alerted other clubs to his potential availability recently after admitting he felt disrespected.
"I am with the team 200 per cent but with the board, about 10 per cent - as it is, I have one foot, half a body and almost my head out of the club," he said.
"I don’t think about money, all I am asking for is respect for the job I do like any other professional."
Manchester United are rumoured to be among those courting his services, an understandable move considering their defensive problems this season. First-choice right-back Rafael managed to feature in just 11 games due to injury problems, meaning winger Antonio Valencia was regularly utilised in a more defensive position.
Whilst no fee would be required to sign Alves, hefty wages could be required to bring in a player who has won five Spanish league titles and two Champions League trophies. However, Louis van Gaal has been told he has funds to bring in players that can strengthen his current squad.
Alves has indicated he will make a decision after the Champions League final on June 6.
