David De Gea's representatives are "increasingly confident" that the transfer of the goalkeeper from Manchester United to Real Madrid will happen before the transfer window closes on Tuesday, according to reports.

De Gea has been strongly linked with a move back to Spain all summer, and The Mirror report that his camp - led by super-agent Jorge Mendes - believe that a deal will be struck before Tuesday's transfer deadline.

The report goes on to say that United are likely to accept £30m for the 24-year-old, as the De Gea saga has become too much of a distraction.

His contract expires at the end of the season, increasing the club's chances of selling him in this transfer window.

De Gea has not been included in any United squad this season, with manager Louis van Gaal saying he is not "mentally fit" to play.
