Chelsea are getting ready to make a £30million move for Argentina and Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho is on the hunt for another striker with Didier Drogba about to leave the club and Diego Costa and Loic Remy injury-prone. The Blues have also been linked with Radamel Falcao and Christian Benteke in recent weeks.
According to The Sun, Mourinho has turned his attention to Higuain, who he managed for three seasons at Real Madrid.
Higuain is believed to be unhappy at Napoli, despite a good goal scoring record, as the club have been unable to challenge for the Italian title in his two seasons under Rafa Benitez.
The Argentina international has scored 53 goals in 102 games for Napoli, but the club finished third and then fifth.
The report states that Chelsea have 'put out feelers' for the striker, although beaten Champions League finalists Juventus are also believed to be interested in the striker, as are Arsenal.
During Mourinho's time at the Bernabeu, Higuain was often favoured in big matches over Karim Benzema. The 27-year-old, who has 23 goals in 47 international matches, scored 58 in 123 Real Madrid matches in three seasons under the Portuguese.
