Arsenal's reported move for Greek defender Kostas Manolas continues to stall.
Several conflicting reports state that the defender may or may not be heading to north London in the coming days, though Arsene Wenger continues to be linked with the 23-year-old.
Roma were also said to be interested in the Olympiakos defender with the expected sale of Mehdi Benatia to Bayern Munich, but Manolas' agent said he had not been in contact with the club.
"The rumours of Manolas moving to Italy have been going on for months now," Giannis Evangelopuolos told Italian website TuttoMercatoWeb.
"But the truth is that there has been nothing. We haven’t heard anything from Roma."
Manolas was left out of Olympiakos' squad for the first match of the season against Niki Volou on Saturday, sparking rumours that he is close to leaving the Greek side.
However, Goal.com report that the two parties remain apart in his wage demands, despite claims that Manolas has already had a medical at the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger is in need of defensive cover with Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Calum Chambers, who is very inexperienced at the position, the only centre-backs in his first team.
