Krystian Bielik to Arsenal: Gunners agree £2.5m transfer for 17-year-old Legia Warsaw midfielder who will have medical tomorrow
Hamburg were also in the race for the Poland youth international
Arsenal have agreed a fee in the region of £2.5m for Legia Warsaw's 17-year-old midfielder Krystian Bielik, who will undergo a medical with the Premier League side on Friday.
German side Hamburg also put a bid in for the Poland youth international, but it is understood that the Gunners have won the race after Legia issued a statement on the club website confirmed the scheduling of Friday's medical.
It read: "Krystian Bielik will have a medical in Arsenal on Friday."
The 17-year-old midfielder revealed his delight at moving to the club of his "dreams" and said he hoped the deal could be wrapped up as soon as possible.
"I'm going to London to fulfill my dreams. I hope I will become an Arsenal player soon," Bielik told to legia.com.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will reportedly put Bielik in the Gunners first-team squad straight away, despite only making six senior appearances for Legia.
Legia coach Henning Berg said of Bielik last night: "He doesn't have any weaknesses. He is a physical player with good skills, good understanding, a good match mentality and good decision-making in the game.
"For his age, he is quite far ahead compared to others in his age group."
