Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will have held his breath during the international week as three players pulled out of their national teams with injury.

Daniel Sturridge was unable to play in either of England's matches this past week while Raheem Sterling headed back to Liverpool after helping Roy Hodgson's team beat Lithuania 4-0 on Friday night. Sturridge has said that he will play through the pain barrier to be ready for Arsenal.

Dejan Lovren also pulled out of the Croatia squad ahead of their two games with an abdominal problem but the trio of players are expected to be ready in time for the crucial game against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

Adam Lallana, who had to be replaced at half-time in the defeat against Manchester United, is another who should be fine to play at the Emirates.

Roders was handed further injury boosts this week when teenage prodigy Jordon Ibe returned to light training at Melwood and Jon Flanagan played a cameo in the Steven Gerrard charity match at Anfield.

Lucas Leiva also played 90 minutes in that game and told the club website he is feeling 100 per cent ahead of the Arsenal clash.

Two players who will definitely miss the game are Martin Skrtel and Steven Gerrard who are both serving three game bans after the Manchester United clash.
