Klopp speaks of his 'relief' after Liverpool's Champions League win

Liverpool's hopes of signing Ousmane Dembele have apparently been given a boost.

The Frenchman could be on his way out of Barcelona after a tumultuous season at the Nou Camp.

Add that to rumours of the addition of Antoine Griezmann or even the return of Neymar and the outlook looks bleak for the 22-year-old.

Mundo Deportivo report that Dembele and his representatives are set to meet with Barca this week to clarify the club's plans.

Jurgen Klopp is said to be in the market for a new backup goalkeeper with current No 2 Simon Mignolet set to leave this summer.

An option said to be being considered is Southampton's Alex McCarthy who could be available at the right price according to the Evening Standard.

However, the Liverpool Echo report that McCarthy is not of interest so make of that what you will.

It would appear any hope Liverpool fans have of adding Nabil Fekir this summer are over.

The French international is available this offseason but, according to Bleacher Report, Klopp has told owner John W Henry that he is more than happy with his squad unless an outstanding possible signing arises.

The Reds were very keen on signing the attacking midfielder a year ago only to see the deal collapse at the 11th hour.

But it doesn't seem likely they renew that interest 12 months on.

Remember when Kylian Mbappe was linked with a sensational move to Anfield a year ago?

The Liverpool Echo believe these comments from Fabinho are the reason behind those rumours.

"I have not had the chance to congratulate him yet on what he did winning the World Cup," the Brazilian said last year. "What France did was fantastic. What Mbappe did in two years of professional football is amazing. He is a phenomenon and needs to be congratulated. As soon as I have the chance I will."

He added: "He has already said for the next season he will remain at PSG, but I will try slowly to convince him to come to Liverpool."

Could the Reds break the bank for another defender?

Reports in Italy suggest that Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly could be that man with suggestions that contact has been made for a player valued in the region of £100m.
