Liverpool have made an £11.9m bid for Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski, it's claimed.

The Reds have been linked with the Poland international for some time and now La Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Nicolo Schira reports they have firmed that up with a concrete offer.

Zielinski is currently on loan at Udinese's fellow Serie A side Empoli where he has managed to score four goals in 33 appearances this term.

The 21-year-old has spoken of Liverpool's interest before, telling Polish outlet Sportowe Fakty: "There is a lot of truth in rumours about Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp is interested in me, we had some talks."

Udinese sporting director Cristiano Giaretta has also confirmed the interest in recent weeks.

"There is interest from Liverpool and it is concrete interest," he said. “He is doing very well and has the eyes of the Premier League on him.”

However, Liverpool could face competition for Zielinski's signature, with Napoli also understood to be keen on the player who has netted three times in 13 appearances for Poland.
