Lukas Podolski joined Inter Milan on loan in January (GETTY IMAGES)
Lukas Podolski has suggested that he could return to Arsenal this summer when his loan spell at Inter Milan expires.
The German international has endured a woeful time in Serie A, and was recently voted the second-worst January signing to the Italian top-flight behind AC Milan loanee Alessio Cerci. The poll was conducted by Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
He has failed to score in all nine appearances for the Italian side.
“The Arsenal chapter has by no means been closed,” Podolski told Sport Bild.
“I still have a year left on my contract and always got along really well with the guys and the fans.”
“But because I was not allowed to play a lot in my last half year, I needed to try something else. When I retire at one point, I can say that I have played in three top leagues: the Bundesliga, the Premier League and Serie A.”
