Anthony Martial’s return to form could be a turning point in his Manchester United career – but not if today’s transfer speculation is to be believed.

Martial scored twice for United in their 4-1 win over West Ham United in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night, helping set up a semi-final tie against Hull City.

It was a timely boost for Martial, who has struggled in his second season at OId Trafford since he joined from Monaco in 2015 and was dropped and warned by Jose Mourinho over his lack of form.

However, Martial’s future is set to be the subject of increased speculation in January and beyond, with The Sun today reporting PSG want to sign the France international.

The Sun quotes a source as saying: “It is well known the club are very keen if the club does consider selling.”

Martial joined United from Monaco for £36m and scored 17 goals in his first season at the club.

Marcos Rojo is another who has played his way back into contention at Old Trafford, but he too could be set for the exit with Bayer Leverkusen understood to be lining up a move.

The 26-year-old, who can play at left-back or centre-back, joined United from Sporting Lisbon for £16m in 2014. His attitude has been called into question by some, although he has impressed Mourinho in recent weeks. Nonetheless, the Daily Mail reports Leverkusen are set to make a move.

Marcos Rojo could be on his way out of Old Trafford

Meanwhile, The Daily Mirror suggests Daley Blind could also be on his way out of Old Trafford as Mourinho prepares for a defensive rebuild in January and during the summer.

The Netherlands international is understood to be expecting to make way for new arrivals, which could include Bayern Munich’s David Alaba and Jose Fonte from Southampton.
