Manchester United transfer news: Zlatan Ibrahimovic return is unlikely, says Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has poured cold water on the prospect of Zlatan Ibrahimovic returning to Manchester United.
Alexis Sanchez’s departure for Internazionale on loan has left United short of options in attack, with Solskjaer only able to sign free agents as a replacement before January.
Ibrahimovic’s contract with LA Galaxy will expire in November and the 37-year-old hinted at a potential United return earlier this week.
Solskjaer initially appeared open to the possibility, revealing that Ibrahimovic has his phone number.
“Zlatan had a great time here, he’s still doing well, it’s unfortunate he got his injury here. Who knows? He knows my number, he looked at my house.
“We can speak a native language, if he’s serious Ill always speak to Zlatan.”
However, when asked to clarify his remarks, the United manager ruled out any chance of Ibrahimovic returning.
“I don’t think that will happen,” he said. “I think he’s had his time at the club, he’s had a fantastic career at the club.”
