Monday morning’s Manchester United transfer gossip is dominated by rumours of one signing and a host of January exits – suggesting it could be a busy January at Old Trafford.

United target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has fuelled rumours he could be set to join United by this weekend refusing to commit his future to Borussia Dortmund.

Aubameyang is in scintillating form for Dortmund, with his brace in a 4-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday taking his tally for the season to 18 goals in 18 appearances.

Predictably, that form has led to rumours resurfacing of a move to United, with Jose Mourinho’s side struggling for goals despite the summer additions of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba.

Aubameyang is under contract with Dortmund until 2020, but when asked about his future this weekend his reply was anything but reassuring for the Bundesliga club.

“I don’t know if I will stay,” Aubameyang said. “I just think about playing good football right now. I want to give my best and win titles. I just think about the sport and nothing else.”

Meanwhile, Anthony Martial, Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and Ashley Young have all been tipped by various news outlets to leave United.

Rumours of Martial’s departure have been circulating for weeks, fuelled by the Frenchman’s ‘difficult second season’ with United – he scored 17 goals last season but has found the net only four times this campaign.

The Sun now claim United can expect a £60m fee for the Frenchman if they elect to sell him at the end of the season, with both Real Madrid and Barcelona reported to be interested.

The paper also adds that a deal with Real Madrid could involve a James Rodriguez moving the other way.

One of Monday morning’s more outlandish stories comes from the Daily Express, who say Everton are ready to make a ‘sensational’ move for Rooney and Depay in January.

The Express adds that Everton manager Ronald Koeman is a big admirer of the pair, and that although Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is understood to be unwilling to sell Rooney, whose form has improved dramatically in recent weeks, a loan move for Depay is a real possibility.

Young could also be on the move next month, with Everton, West Brom, Watford and Swansea all interested in his services, according to reports. Young has barely featured under Mourinho and, according to ESPN on Monday, he is open to a move away from Old Trafford in search of regular football.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror report Jesse Lingard is in a contract stand-off despite being offered a new £60,000-a-week deal. The Mirror states Lingard does not want to leave Old Trafford but is holding out for more money – somewhere nearer the £100,000-a-week being earned by England forward Harry Kane.
