Marcos Rojo insists he wants to stay at Manchester United despite rumours of rift with Louis van Gaal

Marcos Rojo has committed himself to Manchester United despite speculation that the club could let him leave before the close of the transfer window

Rumours surfaced late on Monday night that the Argentinian defender had fallen out with Louis van Gaal and was set for the exit.

Rojo later spoke to ESPN Radio and, despite admitting that his manager is a demanding figure, he dedicated himself to the club.

"I have received offers but my idea is to stay here [at United] and fight for a position because it is a great club," he said.

"I'll try to play as much as possible," Rojo added. "I talked to Van Gaal when I returned and was upset by everything that had happened but he said he was counting on me.

"Van Gaal has a very strong personality, he demands much and is always on top of the player."

Tensions between the pair have existed since Rojo failed to join United on their pre-season tour in the United States due to 'passport issues'.

Rojo, 25, has not featured in any of the club's opening Premier League fixtures, apparently due to a lack of fitness.

He has not played a full competitive fixture since Argentina's Copa America final defeat to Chile on July 4, although he did appear for United's Under-21 side against Ajax last Thursday.
