Martinez swoops to sign Lopez
Wigan Athletic have signed the Spain Under-21s international Adrian Lopez until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old was a free agent after leaving Deportivo La Coruña at the end of last season and had been training with the Premier League side while he awaited clearance from Fifa.
"He is a defender who is calm under pressure and is a great reader of the game," the Wigan manager Roberto Martinez said of Lopez, who played 23 games and scored two goals for the La Liga side and could feature on Sunday when Wigan play Newcastle.
