Wolves are ready to open talks over a deal for Scotland striker James McFadden. The 28-year-old free agent is in his second week of training with the Molineux club as he attempts to fight his way back from a cruciate ligament injury which has sidelined him for a year.

Manager Mick McCarthy is aware of interest from other clubs but admits nothing has yet been agreed. "We will have a discussion with his agent," he said.
