Nani has revealed for the first time that he may not return to Manchester United next season, when his loan spell at Sporting Lisbon ends.

The Portuguese winger left United in August to rejuvenate his career after falling out of favour at Old Trafford, and has scored two goals in nine since returning to his former club.

The 27-year-old, who joined United for £17m from Sporting in 2007, featured in Sporting's 1-0 defeat by Chelsea in the Champions League last night.

"I don’t know [if I will go back]," he said after the match.

"At the moment I just want to enjoy the football, I want to play, I want to be at my best and then let's see what happens in the future.

"But at the moment I am a Manchester United player, so I'm just here to get back to my best."
