Harry Redknapp insists Luka Modric will be staying at the club despite the Croatian midfielder having submitted a transfer request. The Spurs manager said: "We know he wants to leave and whether he writes it down on a piece of paper doesn't really make any difference."

Modric's team-mate Michael Dawson has backed chairman Daniel Levy's stance. "You want to keep your best players," Dawson said. "The chairman has come out and said 'no one is for sale' so that's great."
