Steven Gerrard transfer latest: Liverpool captain free to talk to other clubs
The 34-year-old has been offered a new contract to remain at Anfield

Steven Gerrard can sign a pre-contract with any other club from today as his Liverpool future continues to be clouded by uncertainty.
The club captain will see his current Anfield deal expire at the end of the season and rules state that he is free to talk with other clubs about the possibility of joining them and can even go as far as signing a pre-contract.
Speaking yesterday, manager Brendan Rodgers said that if Gerrard chooses to discuss a move elsewhere, that is something well in his rights to do.
"I have got a great relationship and communication with Steven so we understand exactly the position," said Rodgers. "I think he has earned that respect if he does [talk to anyone]."
Liverpool have offered Gerrard a new contract but the 34-year-old has so far opted not to sign.
Should the former England captain be willing to leave Anfield a host of Europe's top sides would be keen to speak to him.
