Inter Milan have left Ricardo Quaresma out of their updated Champions League squad, prompting reports he could be offered to Tottenham in exchange for midfielder Jermaine Jenas.

The Portuguese winger made six appearances for Inter in the group stages of Europe's elite club competition but has failed to impress since joining the Italian champions in the summer from Porto.

"I am disappointed with him," said Inter coach Jose Mourinho.

"He is a player that I wanted in Milan but unfortunately, he has not been able to overcome the criticism directed at him.

"Without confidence in oneself it becomes more difficult."

Reports in Italy suggest Inter are currently pondering offloading Quaresma to Spurs in a transfer deadline day swap deal for England midfielder Jenas.

Argentinian striker Hernan Crespo has yet again failed to make the cut, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Julio Cruz and Adriano grabbing Inter's attacking places for the Champions League.

The Serie A leaders take on Manchester United in the first knock-out round on 24 February.

Inter travel to Old Trafford for the return leg on 11 March.
