Tottenham transfer news: Christian Eriksen offered way out of Spurs after Manchester United pull out of deal
The Dane is out of contract next year and has no intention of signing a new deal, with both he and the club now preferring a sale
Atletico Madrid are willing to offer Christian Eriksen a way out of Tottenham Hotspur, as they seek to sign a playmaker this summer.
The Dane is out of contract next year, and has no intention of signing a new deal, with both he and the club now preferring a sale this summer.
Eriksen's primary choice is Real Madrid but he does generally want a change of lifestyle, which is ultimately why the move to Manchester United broke down.
Atletico are however willing to test, as they seek a creator to complete a title-challenging team.
Manager Diego Simeone's first choice is James Rodriguez but the club hierarchy do not want to deal with rivals Madrid and would prefer to negotiate with Spurs.
Tottenham would however prefer to get any business done by the close of the English window, which could complicate affairs, since Atletico can still sign players up until the end of August.
