Premier League transfer round-up: Higuain signs for Chelsea

Leeds United youngster Jack Clarke will see out this season with the club despite January interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace are among those keeping tabs on the versatile forward, but neither will be able to prise the teenager away from Elland Road in the middle of a campaign that Clarke hopes will end in promotion.

In a situation similar to that of Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon a year ago, Leeds are unwilling to listen to offers until they know what division they will be playing in next year. Should the Yorkshire club achieve promotion back to the Premier League for the first time in fifteen years then Clarke's value will only increase.

While Spurs have a glut of young English talent at the club and Palace could potentially offer the starlet first-team football, the focus at Leeds and within Clarke's camp is to get to the end of the season and see where they are. Indeed, they are hoping to boost their promotion chances by signing Welsh international Daniel James.

Swansea want north of £11m for James, who has one Wales cap, and while they are willing to sell the player they are not looking to lower their asking price.

Leeds are analysing alternatives on the continent as they desperately search to add more quality for the Championship run-in and their first shot in years at a return to the big time.
