John Stones has told Everton that he wants to leave the club this summer to move to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, according to the Daily Mail. The Toffees are reportedly demanding £50m for the 22-year-old which would make him Britain’s most expensive defender were the deal to go through. After being extensively linked with Chelsea last summer, the Manchester side now seem to have edged ahead in the race to sign the highly-coveted English international.

In light of a potential Stones transfer, Everton boss Ronald Koeman has already begun the process of seeking out his replacement with Scott Dann and Porto centre-back Bruno Martins Indi up for consideration.

It seems City aren’t just stopping there with Stones though. Rumours have also linked the Manchester side to Juventus’ Leonardo Bonucci. According to the Guardian, the club are considering offering the Serie A side £51m for the Italian centre-back who starred in Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign.

Pep is a keen admirer of the player and described him in February as “One of my favourite ever players”. Given City’s defensive issues throughout the past season – Vincent Kompany has failed to shake off a reoccurring calf problem and the likes of Eliaquim Mangala have struggled to impress – Bonucci would provide some much needed experience and technical ability to City's back four.

Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic could be on his way out with Juventus lining up a potential move for the Serbian international. Reports from the Mirror suggest that the Italian champions are ready to make a £17m bid for the 27-year-old. With Chelsea set to bring in Leicester’s N’Golo Kante as well as Roma’s Radja Nainggolan, Matic could become surplus to requirements at the London club and the Italians are hopeful that his could help their cause.

Carlos Tevez's reunion with West Ham looks to be off the cards. According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers had offered the Argentine a £150,000 a week contract which would have made him the highest paid player at the club.

But the 32-year-old appears to have turned down their proposed contract and has instead demanded £250,000 a week to make the return to London. David Sullivan, West Ham’s co-owner, questioned the forward’s supposed love for the Hammers. He said: “All this business, ‘I love West Ham’, well it’s ‘I love West Ham if they give me £250,000 a week’. So how much love is that for West Ham?”

Carlos Tevez isn’t the only former Premier League forward who’s been linked with a shock return to England. Robin van Persie could be on his way to Middlesbrough after Fenerbahce revealed that they are willing to consider offers for the 32-year-old who spent only one season with the club.

The newly-promoted side are in the market for a new striker as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of their return to the Premier League and the Dutchman has caught their eye, the Daily Mail reports. The Dutchman scored 16 goals in his debut season in the Turkish Super Lig and is reportedly valued at around £4m.

And any transfer round-up wouldn’t be complete without the latest rumours surrounding Paul Pogba. Manchester United’s pursuit of the 23-year-old rolls on and now the Mirror is adding to reports that the club are poised to make a world record £100m bid for the Frenchman. United are allegedly prepared to offer the midfielder a £300,000-a-week deal over five years which they hope will help ward off interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea. If successful, the transfer would break the record set by Gareth Bale’s move to the Bernabeu three years ago.
