Spurs and Crystal Palace are set for a confrontation over a fee for John Bostock after the young midfielder agreed to a move across London to White Hart Lane. The 16-year-old has confirmed he will sign for Spurs and the Premier League club expect to register him at the end of next month, but a tribunal is likely to be needed to decide how much Palace receive in return. Bostock, who made his Palace debut against Watford in the Championship last October aged just 15, is expected to play for Spurs reserves next season. However, give a change in the rules to allow seven substitutes, he could feature for the first team.

Derby cut losses on Earnshaw

Championship newcomers Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of striker Robert Earnshaw from neighbours Derby County for £2.65m. The Welsh international scored only twice in 25 appearances for the Rams last season after his arrival from Norwich for £3.5m last summer. He has signed a three-year contract with Forest, who won promotion after finishing second in League One.

Forssell leaves for Hannover

Hannover have completed the signing of the Finland striker Mikael Forssell from the club on a free transfer. Forssell, who spent five years with Birmingham, has signed a three-year contract with the Bundesliga side.

Ellington moves from Watford

Derby manager Paul Jewell has signed Nathan Ellington and Jordan Stewart from Watford. Ellington, 26, has signed on a year's loan, which will turn into a permanent move on a free transfer, while Stewart has signed a three-year deal.
