Marek Cech's agent claims that manager Tony Mowbray wants to take the West Bromwich Albion player with him to Celtic. Juraj Venglos also revealed that the left-back is wanted by Steve McClaren's FC Twente. "Apart from the Dutch club, Celtic are also maintaining their strong interest."

Phil Brown has claimed that three Premier League clubs have enquired about his Hull City defender Michael Turner. Brown is unwilling to sell one of his star players, but admitted: "If someone decided to come in and reach the price tag, then there's a possibility we may lose him."

Drogba to sign new contract

Didier Drogba has agreed terms on a new three-year contract with Chelsea which he will sign when Carlo Ancelotti's side return from their tour of the United States. The striker's existing deal was due to expire next year and Drogba had been linked with a move to Italy after growing disenchanted under previous manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.

Malouda extends Blues stay

Florent Malouda has signed a new three-year deal at Chelsea. "I am really happy because it shows a mutual trust between the club and myself, and for me it is just the beginning of the story," the French international winger said.

Sheffield United have closed in on the signing of the Manchester City striker Ched Evans. The Bramall Lane club have agreed a fee of £1.5m for the Welsh international, which could rise as high as £3m.
