Moyes moves for midfielder

Everton hope to secure a work permit for midfielder Ever Banega this week. Toffees manager David Moyes is looking to sign the 21-year-old Valencia and Argentina midfielder on a season-long loan, with a view to making the deal permanent next summer.

Vidic agent denies done deal

Nemanja Vidic's agent has confirmed the Manchester United defender is "happy" at the club. Reports had suggested the Serbian would depart if Barcelona showed interest. "It would be a dream for Vidic to play for Barcelona," the defender's agent said. "If Barça do make an offer then it is up to United to make a decision."

Reds close to Kyrgiakos

Former Rangers defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos is close to completing a £1.5m move from AEK Athens to Liverpool. "I would like to inform the fans of AEK," the 30-year-old said, "That on Monday I received an offer from Liverpool, which I have accepted."
