Alex Teixeira has edged closer to a Liverpool deal by expressing a desire to leave Shakhtar Donetsk. In an interview with Brazilian newspaper O Globo he’s said
“I would like to move in this transfer window and have told them [Shakhtar] that. They have received a very good offer and they are working on a solution. But if I don’t go now then I will leave in the summer. After six years in Europe and with Shakhtar we are ready to move and I have spoken to my wife and daughter.
I do want to play in the Premier League. In my mind, it is the strongest in the world. I want a challenge and to further my career there. My aim is to move to a big club so that I can well there and get a place in the Brazil squad. Everyone knows that it is hard to achieve and I need to leave here to achieve that goal.”
Elsewhere the Colombia and Real Madrid starlet James Rodriguez may be on the move from Real Madrid. Zinedine Zidane is reportedly “unhappy” with the training attitude of the 24 year old. The Express report that Manchester United are now eyeing up a £64 million bid to tempt the forward to Old Trafford.
With United’s attack failing to deliver goals once again against Southampton they may also look to Barcelona star Neymar to cover their attacking woes. They’ll have to see off their estranged brethren, however, with Manchester City also linked to the Samba star with a £15 million a year contract offer, according to Gazetta.
Everton and England defender John Stones may find himself going in the opposite direction. The highly rate left back has been linked with a £50 million move away from Goodison this summer. The Mail on Sunday report that the Toffees defender is being coveted by both Real Madrid and Barcelona with Chelsea also looking to tempt the 21 year old in a move.
Back in Spain Atheltico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has admitted he may not be able to hang on to French international Antoine Griezmann. The ex-Real Sociedad forward has scored 19 goals this season with his boss admitting "Of course he’s a very important player for us, but we can't hold him here with chains." Chelsea, Real Madrid and PSG are all looking at the star who could find himself moving in this transfer window.
Spurs are also looking to sharpen their own attach with The Sunday People linking them to Leicester pair N’Golo Kante and Jamie Vardy. Kante only joined Leicester for £5.5 million this Summer but Mauricio Pochetinno is thought to be impressed with the French international. With Andros Townsend on his way out and the Saido Berahino deal now nothing more than a fleeting summer romance Spurs are in the market for a striker. However, they’ll have to work hard to convince Ranieri to let get go of his highly rated duo having previously stated that Vardy will be going nowhere.
