Victor Valdes has confirmed he is to leave Manchester United during this window after posting a farewell message to the club's fans.
The Spanish goalkeeper has been frozen out by Louis van Gaal after a dispute last season.
Van Gaal claimed that Valdes, who won numerous trophies with Barcelona, refused to play with the Under-21 team - a charge which the 34-year-old has consistently denied.
Since then Valdes was first left in the UK while the rest of the squad travelled for the pre-season tour to America, he was not given a squad number and even had to use a separate dressing room.
He has been training away from the first-team all season.
Valdes had been linked to Turkish side Besiktas but will now likely move to Standard Liege on loan, as we reported on Wednesday night.
United are likely to pay part of his wages.
Valdes took to social media on Thursday morning to thank United supporters.
"Thank you all for your support during these months of hard work for me, I will never forget," he wrote.
"See you soon!"
