West Ham United are set to overhaul their midfield this summer by selling off Kevin Nolan and turning down their option on Alex Song.

Song, who is currently on loan at Upton Park from Barcelona, performed impressively during the first half of the season as part of a side which sat in fourth place on Christmas Day.

Since the turn of the year, however, Sam Allardyce's men have only won twice in the league and Song's form has declined alongside that of his club's.

According to the Mirror, the Irons are now reconsidering their plan to sign the player permanently and a move to Inter Milan could be on the cards for the former Cameroonian international.

Club captain Nolan's time at Upton Park will also come to an end should the club receive an acceptable offer for his services.

The 32-year old midfielder is a close ally of under-pressure manager Allardyce and is reportedly not the type of player that the Irons wish to have on their books come next season.
