Yaya Toure is in talks to leave Manchester City and join Inter Milan to link up with former manager Roberto Mancini, according to his outspoken agent Dimitri Seluk.

The 33-year-old is widely expected to leave City this summer after a poor season affected by inconsistency and injury, with incoming City manager Pep Guardiola unlikely to stand in Toure’s way given he sold him from Barcelona back in 2010 after deciding he was surplus to requirements.

Toure has appeared close to a City exit at times during his six years at the Etihad Stadium, but there is a general feeling that this time around he will leave and that Guardiola will mount a rebuilding project at the club following their disappointing fourth-place finish this season.

With Mancini attempting to take Inter back to the Champions League – something he missed out on this season after finishing fourth in the Serie A table – Toure would be sacrificing his participation in the competition, but Seluk appeared to suggest that isn’t a problem and had confirmed reports that talks are already underway to sell Toure permanently.

"It's true, we're talking with Mancini,” Seluk told Italian website Calciomercato.com.

"We're looking for a solution with Manchester City, who want to sell Yaya Toure only up front, not on loan.

"I can't say if there are other teams interested. He has a contract, but nothing special. Inter? It's a good club."

Seluk had confirmed earlier in the week that he hopes the Ivory Coast international’s future will be secured “within the next 10 days”, and it appears that Toure could depart before Guardiola even arrives in Manchester to take up the new role.
