Harry Kane is on course for the Golden Boot after scoring the opening goal in England’s last-16 tie with Colombia in Moscow.
The Tottenham forward was dragged down by Carlos Sanchez, the same player who was sent off four minutes into their opening game of the tournament against Japan, before referee Mark Geiger pointed to the spot.
As the pushing and shoving ensued following to decision, the Colombian players were filmed scuffing up the penalty spot in an attempt to gain an advantage as Sanchez and Jordan Henderson were both booked.
However Kane, who put away his third penalty of World Cup, slotted past Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina to put England ahead.
