Gallagher's Gold aim

Adrian Maguire's misfortune in missing next Saturday's Sandown meeting because of suspension could allow Dean Gallagher to be reunited with Dubacilla in the Mildmay Cazalet Memorial Chase.

Gallagher rode Dubacilla to victories at Ascot and Cheltenham for Henry Cole last season, only to lose the mount when the mare was transferred to David Nicholson in the summer.

Gallagher said: "It has not been confirmed but it is near enough certain that I will ride Dubacilla on Saturday and I am over the moon about it - it's what I have been waiting for."

Gallagher was impressed with the mare's latest outing when second to Raymylette at Ascot. "That was a very good run, giving weight to a horse who is 12-1 for the Gold Cup," he said.

With Maguire likely to choose stable-companion Barton Bank in the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Gallagher is hoping to partner Dubacilla again at the Festival.
