Dwain Chambers set to make sprint comeback at 40 years old
Chambers is on the start list for the 60m event at the British Indoor Championships
Dwain Chambers is poised for a surprise sprinting comeback at the British Championships this weekend.
The 40-year-old is on the start list for the 60m in Birmingham on Saturday after deciding to come out of retirement and he could gatecrash Great Britain's squad for the European Indoor Championships.
The qualifying time for next month's championships in Glasgow is 6.60 seconds with the top two automatically booking their spot if they also clock the time.
British number one Reece Prescod is not running, with Chambers' main competition double European champion Richard Kilty and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake.
Former world indoor 60m champion Chambers was banned in 2004 for doping and lost his European 100m gold from 2002 and 2003 World Championships relay silver medal.
