Boxing: Championship fights cancelled

David Haye was due to challenge Mark Hobson in Huddersfield on 14 October for the British and Commonwealth cruiserweight titles but Hobson developed shingles and has pulled out.

Late on Monday night Graham Earl's challenge for the vacant European lightweight title against Yuri Romanov, of Belarus, scheduled for York Hall in London's East End this Friday, was also scrapped when Earl damaged a rib.

Both fights were due to be screened live by Sky, which has dropped this week's broadcast, but have not made a decision on any of the proposed opponents for Haye and the planned fight in Huddersfield.
