Scotland's World Championship-winning curlers have denied rumours of a rift between themselves and the Olympic champion skip Rhona Martin.

Martin had reportedly degraded Jackie Lockhart's win in North Dakota because her team would only be champions for one year rather than the four for the Olympics. Lockhart and team-mates Anne Laird, Katriona Fairweather, Sheila Swan and Edith Loudon took the title with a 6-5 win over Sweden in the final at the weekend.

However, Lockhart, who received an e-mail of congratulations from Martin, said: "We are all delighted with our medals and I'm sure Rhona did not say anything like that."
