Yesterday morning Manny Pacquiao returned to boxing, easily beat Brandon Rios on points and satisfied a capacity crowd in Macau in a fight that was a test of just how much the Filipino idol has left. He made a difficult fight look easy and a meeting with Floyd Mayweather is back on the agenda.

“If all sides cut out the crap,” said Bob Arum, the promoter, “a fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather can get done. I’m working on it now and where there is a way, there is a will.” It would be Arum’s finest hour if he can make it happen.
