Chris Froome lost his overall lead in the Tirreno-Adriatico to Italian Vincenzo Nibali on a brutal sixth stage won yesterday with a magnificent show of strength by Peter Sagan. The Slovak sprinted ahead of Nibali on the last of three ascents of Sant'Elpidio a Mare.
Froome dropped to second overall, 34 seconds behind Nibali and three seconds ahead of third-placed Rodriguez, with only today's 9.2km (just under six miles) individual time trial remaining.
