Michael Whitaker continued to celebrate his return from a four-month ban when he rode Portofino to win yesterday's Christmas Pudding Stakes at the London International Horse Show at Olympia.
Since his return in October from a ban imposed after a positive dope test on another of his horses, he has won major contests in Canada, Italy and the US.
Earlier, his niece, Ellen Whitaker, rode her long-standing partner, Cortaflex Kanselier, to victory in the opening jumping contest in the Welcome Two Phases Stakes.
