A spectator at the Tour de France has been killed and two others injured in a collision with a police motorcycle.

The accident happened in the village of Wittelsheim, during the race's 14th stage.

French police said details of the accident are unclear but one spokesman said the woman who died was crossing the road when she was hit by the motorcycle.

The bike then sled and hit two more people
